Opening an account

How do I open a trading account?

Register online with your name, email and phone number, verify your identity, then fund your account and download MetaTrader 5. Registration takes about 5 minutes; verification can take longer.

Which documents do I need for verification?

Usually a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID or driving licence) and a recent proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement. We may ask for more information where required by regulation.

Yes. A free demo account lets you practise on MT5 with virtual funds and real market prices, without risking money. You can open a live account whenever you are ready.

Deposits and withdrawals

How can I deposit funds?

Available methods depend on your country and can include cards, bank transfer and local payment options. The full, up-to-date list is shown in the client portal cashier.

Deposit & withdrawal methods

How long do withdrawals take?

Many withdrawal requests are processed automatically, but the time until the money reaches you depends on the payment method and your bank or provider.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

As an anti-money-laundering measure, withdrawals are normally returned to the same method and in the name of the account holder. Third-party payments are not accepted.

Are there deposit or withdrawal fees?

Any fees charged by IST Markets are shown in the cashier before you confirm. Your bank or payment provider may charge its own fees or apply a currency conversion rate.

Leverage and risk

What is a CFD?

A contract for difference (CFD) lets you speculate on rising or falling prices without owning the underlying asset. You gain or lose the difference between the opening and closing price.

What is leverage?

Leverage lets you open a position larger than your margin. At 1:100, $1,000 of margin controls a $100,000 position. It magnifies both profits and losses.

Margin calculator

What leverage can I use?

Maximum leverage depends on the instrument, account type and your jurisdiction, and is usually lower on metals, indices and crypto than on major currency pairs.

How can I manage my risk?

Decide how much you are willing to lose before each trade, use a stop loss, size positions to that risk and avoid using all your margin. Stop losses are not guaranteed and can slip in fast markets.

Position size calculator

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses. Maximum leverage depends on the instrument, account type and your jurisdiction.
